Georgia 69, Ole Miss 64

Stefan Moody can't do it alone.

The bouncy guard scored 26 points (10-for-10 from the stripe), but he didn't get any help from Jarvis Summers (7 pts) or Snoop White (5 pts).

I know that may be over-simplifying things, but it's just the truth. The Rebels lost by five points. If either White or Summers hits closer to their average Ole Miss would have beaten Georgia, but they didn't, and the Rebels blew a chance to make a big jump in the RPI index with a statement road win over a Top 30 RPI team.

As frustrating as it is for us, one can only imagine what it must be like for Andy Kennedy to watch helplessly from the sideline as the ball clangs off the rim from two of his top three scorers.

Summers and White were a combined 5 of 20 from the field. Using my feeble math skills, I think that's 25-percent, and when Summers and Snoop only make a quarter of their shots Ole Miss won't win.

Despite his 26 points, Moody wasn't perfect either, hitting just 2 of 9 shots from 3-point range. Summers and White were 1 of 6.

And that's the story of the game really. It's why a team that scored 96 at Arkansas on Saturday could only score 64 in Georgia on Tuesday.

When Ole Miss is hot, it's really hot, but when it's cold, brrrrrr, it's coooold.

I'd like to say "try harder" or "practice more," but those aren't the solutions. This is the team Ole Miss has. Enjoy the good times and endure the bad. There is sure to be plenty more of both.

The Rebels fell to 11-7 (2-3 SEC). They return home to host Florida on Saturday.
