Is it possible to overdose on good times? |
I don't know what Andy Kennedy, Hugh Freeze and Ross Bjork are doing to be the recipients of all this good karma, but they probably should just keep doing it - whatever "it" is. Seriously. Everything needs to stay the same...same pajamas, same breakfast, same path to work, same amount of cream in the coffee, same lunch...you get the idea. Don't mess this up. It feels too good.
There hasn't been this must positive energy flowing around Ole Miss athletics since....I don't know when.
Ole Miss is on a seven-game win streak in basketball and entered both Top 25 polls today - No. 23 in the AP Poll and No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Marshall Henderson received the SEC's Player of the Week recognition. The Rebels are 15-2 and 4-0 in the SEC for the first time since 1936-37. ESPN's Andy Katz calls Henderson "a star in the making."
Meanwhile over in football Hugh Freeze received a commitment from another top recruit in Elijah Daniel, moving Ole Miss' current recruiting class into the Rivals Top 10. Has that ever even happened before? Some have the Rebels as a preseason Top 25 selection. Still others are already talking division titles. It's only been 13 months since Freeze took over. Remember the gloom? Remember the doom? I don't either...
Even the sky seemed an extra-radiant shade of blue on Saturday afternoon after the Rebels handled the Arkansas Razorbacks by 12 points on an off day.
Where is all of this coming from? I don't know what's going in Oxford, but nobody wants this to stop.
Everything must..stay..the..same. Everywhere.
They say behind every great man there's a better woman. By all accounts Freeze, Kennedy and Bjork are looking pretty great right now, so maybe it's something at home. Even if it's not, we can't afford to leave any bases uncovered.
So Mrs. Kennedy, Mrs. Freeze and Mrs. Bjork, if you're reading this...don't let your men change anything. I don't care how much they protest. Same oatmeal. Same lunch. Same dinner. Same socks! It may feel like a hassle, but trust me - the high is worth it.
