Ole Miss Against the Odds

Like odds? Here’s what teamrankings.com has to offer. They have picked 76.2% of the game winners correctly this season.

Ole Miss fans have to hope these predictions aren't completely accurate.

If things work out as predicted, then Oregon, Florida State, TCU and Alabama will likely be in the playoffs. That’s assuming none of them lose a conference championship game, and that’s not assuming any particular order. The first two out, since they would only have one loss, would likely be Baylor and Ohio State. The next three might be some order of Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Arizona State. Auburn would finish the season 8-4 and probably outside of the top ten. That’s hard to imagine.

TCU @ Texas doesn't appear to be a lock. The Longhorns surprised West Virginia and sent Charlie Strong crowd surfing last Saturday. Baylor is playing extremely well, but it's hard to have confidence in a defense that has given up over 50 points at any point in the season. Florida State has three quality opponents left to play in the regular season, and there's a lot of talk about them possibly dropping a game to Miami this weekend.

Ohio State looks poised to go undefeated, but they did lose to sub .500 Virginia Tech earlier this season. Oregon seems like a lock as far as the regular season is concerned. Arizona State has a chance to surprise everyone.

Upsets are coming. You can talk your Auburn and A&M friends about that. These predictions won't hold up.
