It was a domination from start to finish. True, Vanderbilt (0-2) is a really bad team, but Ole Miss (2-0) looked great in every facet of the game as it rolled over the Commodores 41-3. The game was over at the beginning of the 3rd quarter when Cliff Coleman returned a pick off of Vandy QB Stephen Rivers for a touchdown to give the Rebels a 27-0 lead. The way the Vanderbilt had played, the remainder of the game was purely a formality.
There's still room for improvement on the offensive line, but who can complain? Bo Wallace (23 of 30 for 320 yards and a TD in 2.1 quarters of play) was almost flawless. The defense was shutdown dominant allowing just 167 total yards, and most of those came after the game was way, way over. Finally, Ole Miss was on the right side of a humiliation. Feels good, doesn't it?
Ole Miss is for real.
Vanderbilt was absolutely helpless on offense, and powerless on defense. It was beautiful. I'll have more thoughts later, but Ole Miss is 2-0 and looked vastly improved from last weekend.
The 2nd Saturday of the season really couldn't have gone any better for the Rebels.
Check back later for more...
