Pitt quarterback Tino Sunseri doesn't think there's anything merry about Mike Marry. The giant Ole Miss linebacker was in Sunseri's face all day long Saturday, posting his most dominant performance as a Rebel and causing Sunseri all kinds of heart ache in Ole Miss' 38-17 BBVA Compass Bowl victory. It was a stellar day for Marry, who led Ole Miss with seven tackles, four for a loss, and one sack that caused a Sunseri fumble.
Marry was the star in Sunseri's nightmare, camping out in the Pitt backfield and wreaking absolute havoc. It seemed almost like Marry knew what play was coming next. There wasn't much the quarterback or the running backs could do to escape. It was almost as though Marry had a secret microphone in the Panthers' huddle, all the pages to the Pitt playbook or maybe he'd picked up on an easy tip-off from watching game film. Something. We've never seem him play like this before.
What was it, Mike?
"It was really because of our D-line," Marry said. "They were taking up so many blocks and requiring double teams that it made by job a lot easier."
He sure made it look easy.
