Decision: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss
Unless you've been living under a rock, you already know about Laquon Treadwell. He's considered by many to be the best wide receiver prospect in the country. He also seems to like Ole Miss, as he often has positive things to say about the Rebels on Twitter, which has already made him a household name for Ole Miss fans. The student section even chanted Treadwell's name when he was in Oxford for his official visit in November. Treadwell has also take official visits to Oklahoma with his official to Oklahoma State coming up on January 11.
Why Ole Miss could get him: By all accounts Hugh Freeze has done an amazing job creating buzz around the program in his first full year of recruiting. Having the attention of the nation's No. 1 recruit in Robert Nkemdiche hasn't hurt, but he's just one of several top players, including Treadwell, who seem to like what they see and hear on their visits to Oxford. Other key selling points for Treadwell have to be Freeze's offense, which gives wide receivers the chance the shine (see Donte Moncrief), and the fact that the Rebels have an experienced quarterback in Bo Wallace for at least one more year. Ole Miss is the only SEC school Treadwell appears to be considering, and the prospect of playing in the spotlight created by the nation's premier college football conference could also be a factor in the Rebels' favor.
Why Ole Miss needs him: He's the best wide receiver in the country. Every school needs that if it can get it. The Rebels have their top three wide receivers returning next season in Donte Moncrief, Vince Sanders and Ja-Mes Logan, but if Treadwell signs with the Rebels it's a safe bet that Freeze will get Treadwell on the field next season. From watching his film Treadwell favorably resembles Moncrief in his ability to beat coverage and to go up and get the ball. Take a look for yourself.
