Ole Miss hasn't beaten Mississippi State in Starkville since 2009, and the Rebels have not swept the Bulldogs since 1998. Even in Ole Miss' best year and State's worst year (2013), the Rebels lost at the Hump, and much like that year, the Rebels have everything to play for while State is just playing for the chance to beat Ole Miss.
Ole Miss is currently considered a 9 seed by ESPN's Joe Lunardi. Mississippi State's RPI is 180. A loss to the Bulldogs would be a gut punch to Ole Miss' NCAA hopes.
In short, Ole Miss really doesn't want to lose this one.
