Ole Miss 67, No. 13 Kentucky 59

Ole Miss head coach Matt Insell got what could prove to be a program-defining victory when his Lady Rebels beat No. 13 Kentucky inside Tad Smith Coliseum on Monday night.

"It is a very special victory. It is a program victory. I can't into words how satisfying it is to beat a ranked-team like Kentucky," Insell said. "They have had unbelievable wins all year and we beat them by eight. Our team just really went out there and took control. I cannot say enough about our players. Danielle McCray, Tia Faleru, Gracie Frizzell, Erika Sisk, A'Queen Hayes, just everybody, came out and played so well.Amber Singletary just battled the entire night. I could not be more proud of a basketball team than I am right now."

It was the first win over a Top 15 team for Ole Miss since 2009-10.

With the win, the Rebels improved to 16-11 (6-8 SEC) and gave themselves at least a shot at making the NCAA Tournament.

"We have won two in a row and we have a chance down the stretch," Insell said. "8-8 is the mark we have to get to. We have said that from day one, 8-8 or better. We have two left. We control our own destiny down the stretch. You go 8-8, and you put yourself back in the NCAA Tournament picture."

Ole Miss finishes the regular season with Senior Night against LSU on Thursday night (6 p.m. CT, SEC Network+) followed by the season finale on the road at Mississippi State on Sunday afternoon (1 p.m. CT, Fox Sports Net).
