The projection I've seen that intrigues me the most, from SB Nation, is Ole Miss vs. Baylor in the Cotton Bowl. That would be a fun matchup. Baylor has an exciting offense, but the LandShark defense would stack up well against it. Plus, Jerry World is the greatest venue is sports to watch a game.
Fox Sport's Stewart Mandel predicts Ole Miss will land in the Peach Bowl against Michigan State - less fun than Cotton, but not bad. At least it's warm inside the Georgia Dome. The return trip to Atlanta for something other than the SEC Championship Game might not be very exciting to some of you, including me.
Meanwhile, Jerry Palm of CBS Sports pencils the Rebels in the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville to take on Maryland. No thank you.
Ole Miss was ranked 12th in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. That should give the Rebels a shot at a better than decent bowl, but the SEC Championship game will be determinative of where Ole Miss ends up. You need to hope for an Alabama win. If the Tide were to lose and miss out on the playoff there will be less premium SEC bowl spots to go around.
