Opportunity Lost

Ole Miss got whupped by the Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols led from start to finish and beat the Rebels in almost every statistical category. The only thing that went right for Ole Miss was Marshall Henderson's eight 3-pointers, but unfortunately for the Rebels Henderson didn't have much help. Jarvis Summers scored 16, but Snoop White, Anthony Perez, Sebastian Saiz and Aaron Jones virtually disappeared. Henderson and Summers can't do it alone, especially in the paint. But they were alone.

Tennessee out-rebounded Ole Miss 45-27. Meanwhile, the Vols were 11-for-20 from 3-point range and shot 49 percent from the field.

Ole Miss shot just 41 percent.

Tennessee (13-7, 4-3 SEC) was hitting on all cylinders. The Rebels' best game may not have beaten the Vols on this night.

The loss dropped Ole Miss to 14-6 and 5-2 in the SEC. It's a loss the Rebels could regret come March. Tennessee was a chance for Ole Miss prove it was a contender instead of a pretender. Ole Miss is still light on quality wins. Opportunities over Kentucky, Florida and Missouri are still to come, but a win in Knoxville would've been helpful.

Here's UT's version of the highlights:
