Ole Miss Picks up 3,000 Yard Running Back

by Jake Adams

Memphis Whitehaven running back Mark Dodson, who tweeted on Saturday that he would be picking between Ole Miss and Vanderbilt in a ceremony at his school this afternoon, inked financial papers with the Rebels this afternoon, per the Ole Miss Spirit's Ben Garrett.

While the news was expected, Dodson's announcement that Vanderbilt was in the mix on Saturday did add a little drama to the affair. Dodson ran for 3,265 yards in his senior season at Whitehaven and recently carried for 318 yards and scored five touchdowns in the Tennessee 6A championship game.

Dodson is expected to compete with senior Jeff Scott and sophomores I'Tavius Mathers, Jaylen Walton and possibly another freshman or two for carries next season.
