Ole Miss Hosts LSU Tonight

The Stefan Moody Show is back at Tad Smith Coliseum tonight as the Ole Miss Rebels host the LSU Tigers (6 p.m., SEC Network).

After Moody sparked the Rebels to a near upset of No. 1 Kentucky and a 65-49 win over South Carolina we all just want to see more of him. I know I do, anyway. He scored 16 points in a single half against the Gamecocks and 25 at Kentucky. The exciting junior college transfer has a 3-point stroke reminiscent of Marshall Henderson, with the added bonus of an explosion to the basket that works to draw fouls and create opportunities for other players. Moody is averaging 17 points and shooting 48-percent from 3-point range over the last 10 games.

His recent break-out play adds a formidable punch to a scoring trio that includes Jarvis Summers (14 ppg) and Snoop White (12.3 ppg). The three have combined for 78 3-pointers while shooting .394 from 3-point range.

LSU (12-3) brings an identical 1-1 SEC record to Oxford, which includes an 87-84 win over Georgia and a 67-74 loss at Missouri (FWIW, Mizzou was thrashed 86-37 by Kentucky last night).

NCAA WATCH
With an NCAA RPI of 56, the Rebels need to just keep winning to make room for themselves in the NCAA Tournament discussion. LSU's RPI is 45. LINK

AGAINST LSU
Andy Kennedy is 10-5 against LSU while coaching at Ole Miss, 11-5 overall. The Rebels own a 54-34 home advantage over the Tigers.
